Online Giving

Relax! If you are a visitor, this page is for people who call Faith their church home and are willing to partner with us in financially supporting our mission and ministry. We do offer conventional ways of financial partnering during our regular worship gatherings, but we also want to provide online giving to those who are interested.

Proverbs 3:9 says we are to “honor the Lord with your wealth, with the first fruits of all your crops…” Malachi 3:10 says, “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.” Jesus taught that our views of money are indicators of our hearts, and Paul taught that if we are loved by God, our natural response is to give back to him in a cheerful, sacrificial and regular way. Essentially, the Bible teaches us that giving to the work of God is about the heart more than it is about the amount of money!

In our technologically savvy age, people are increasingly using the internet to manage and oversee their finances. Some may argue that in the Bible God’s people never used technology to give. Some may also protest that giving online lessens the meaningfulness of giving. And both of those statement might have some validity. Of course, on the other hand, the people of Bible did not use checks or get tax write offs like we do either. And if giving is a matter of the heart more than the method, it could be argued that giving online is just as valid a means of cheerful giving and stewardship as is physically putting something into a plate.

Nonetheless, the principle of scripture is that God’s people give, though the methods of giving may vary from culture to culture. For example, in a bartering society, a pastor might receive chickens and goats as part of a tithe. In Ancient Israel, people tithed crops and fruits. In suburban America, the plate may pass and be filled with checks. Stocks and bonds may be tithed to the church as well. Or property or other goods can be given at part of a tithe. God is honored with all the first fruits of our wealth and earning, and so in a technological economy, that would include online giving.

You are more than free to keep partnering with us via the weekly giving in worship, or by mailing your partnership gifts and tithes to the church office. Now, you are also able to give through this online option, answering the call of God to respond to his love with generosity. And may God see your heart and respond with his own blessing as you give to him.
